Chicago Day 1

Drove 3 hours to Chicago, arrived around lunch time. Stayed at a hostel in Greektown so enjoyed Greek food for lunch. Headed to the train and went downtown to The Art Institute of Chicago. Walked through a virtual Art 101 textbook until we were exhausted. Walked to Millenium Park, took pictures of The Cloud Gate (aka the bean), and played in the fountain. Took the train back to the hostel, changed the kids' clothes, and headed to Giordano's for some amazing Chicago-style pizza.

Pictures are in absolutely no order at all...

We went to the Indianapolis Museum of Art. We started off walking through the gardens and had a picnic outside. Once it got hot, we went inside to look at some of the art. Jacob and Ella both liked the Rube Goldberg-like device that propelled large plastic balls throughout the fourth floor.

Just a month late...

I absolutely don't remember the order we did things, but I'm going to start rehashing July...

Grandma came and we went to the zoo. Pretty sure the kids' favorite animal was the ducks. They both wanted to get their faces painted. Ella chose a butterfly and Jacob chose a dragon- neither of which we actually saw at the zoo. Ella wanted hers off by the time we got to the car because she said it hurt. I think that it just dried and made her face feel tight.
