Thanksgiving
Besides the three wild turkeys (Jacob, Ella, and Greyson!), we saw dozens of real wild turkeys, about a dozen deer, tons of wild birds, hawks, owls, an armadillo, and a vast array of road kill (opossoms, hogs, deer, armadillos, coyotes...).
The kids played blocks. Sort of. Mostly Jacob built things and Ella and Greyson waited patiently to knock them all down. This made Jacob growl and roar, but he was restrained enough not to hit, even after the 200th time. The kids loved playing outside and took lots of walks to the river. Our little geologists loved chunking rocks everywhere. Jacob wanted to feed the birds all day long.
Jacob insisted calling everyone by Sesame Street names the entire time. Uncle Mike was Oscar, of course.
Space saving idea...

This is Jacob's drawing of a voice. We're not sure what that means, but it seems artsy...
Jacob enjoys spelling really difficult words while
wearing his "FireBasketTruckBall" pajamas.

This is Ella the Amazing. She can sing a ton of songs (her current fav is the "Theme from the Monkees"); she says tons of words, mostly in sentence form; she's learning her colors (though, most things are labeled as red or purple); she can count to 16; she's an excellent jumper; her favorite toys are her baby, her kitty, Jacob's puppy, and Jacob's bike.

Kris and I like to play piano, though our current playlist includes "Twinkle Twinkle," "ABCs," and "Happy Birthday." I'm sure it's hilarious to listen to "Clair de Lune" interrupted by a brief pounding in the upper register then transitioning to "Happy Birthday."

Visiting the O's
Saturday, November 22nd the fam went to Mansfield, Texas to hang out with Mommy-O, Daddy-O, Uncle Tim, Aunt Melody, Jonas, and Kaemon. The kids had a great time playing with
cousins and dogs and Daddy-O taught Ella how to sing "Old McDonald." Jacob and Jonas watched Wall-E while Kaemon and Ella napped and Jessica and Mommy-O took a field trip to the local Michael's. Later that evening, we all went to eat Mexican food. The kids ate tons of chips and salsa and Ella was knocking back the milk like it was tequila. Once back at the house, we dressed the kids in their pajamas and loaded up the car to head back to Holliday.

Grandad's Boat
We took a trip to Lake Grapevine to see Grandad's sailboat. The kids got to feed ducks and walk around looking at the water. Once at the boat, Jacob was fascinated watching the boat come out of dry dock. We all climbed in and sat for a while before heading back to the car. We went by a playground for a bit before hitting the Sonic for dinner. The sunset on the way home was amazing, but my camera didn't do it justice...
