My Apologies

Since November, my brain has malfunctioned and I've quit doing stuff. Now that it's January, my brain has turned back on and I've noticed some pretty huge gaps in the ol' family blog. I'm going to be working on amending that, but it'll take a while to catch up.

Jake and some girl

Today at Dance Class, Jessica went in toward the end of class. Jake was doing the kind of thing Jake does, which was in this case rolling onto his back over and over again in order to kick himself in the forehead.

Jessica noticed that this time, there was a girl Jake's age rolling back and forth next to him, also in order to kick herself in the forehead.

And after several rounds of this, as Jake came up from a kick, the girl leaned over and gave him a peck on the cheek.

Jake appeared momentarily confused, but then accepted things quite cheerfully.

Things the kids have said recently:

Ella, while Jacob and I were trying to have a conversation about numbers or science or something:

"Shuuuuush. Uuuuuup. Shuuuuuuush. Uuuuuuuup. Shuuuuush. Uuuuuuup."

And so on.

The tone was kind of like as though she were suffering from a hangover or something. It was hilarious.

Meanwhile, this evening Jacob said, apropos of nothing: "It's so frustrating!"

"What is?" asked Jessica.

"The whole world is!"

"Why?" We asked.

"Because the whole world is so beautiful!"

No idea what he meant by that, but it sounded cool.
