Updated Box Count

We're at box #115!!! Today we took our bed apart and will be getting rid of it this week. Yay air mattress!!! Our table is going away tomorrow. It'll be dinner a la box table. Our strewn about mess is neatly tucked away in boxes with circled numbers. We're very close to done...

I heard news from the Fuji camera company that my camera was going to cost $85 to fix. I called them up and nearly cried and now I'm getting it fixed for free : ) They said it should be back in my hands in a few days. I've been so lost without my camera! First thing to film: Ella spinning, yelling, "Go! Go! Go! Ella!!!" until she falls down. Second thing to film: Jacob swimming, yelling, "Look! I can do it by myself!!!" Third thing to film: our empty house.

Fabulous Feats

Ella's fabulous feat of the week is two word sentences. She now says, "Hi, kitty" and "Bye bye, Daddy." It's very Cute! Jacob's fabulous feat is being able to swim using only the pool noodle. He kept saying, "No! I want to do it by myself!" but Kris was afraid to let him go. Finally he did and Jake was off and swimming! He was very proud of himself.

The Mind of a Three-Year-Old

Today we've sold our couch and our TV cabinet and our coffee table. This leaves us sitting in beach chairs staring at a borrowed TV on the ground. Jacob is enjoying the whole set up immensely! The TV will be put on top of Jacob's little table, but not until Kris and Ella get backfrom their walk.

Jacob says, "Can I watch TV while Ella's walking?"
"I wish you could, sweetheart, but it's not plugged in."
"Well, can you get it plugged in?"
"No, honey. It's too heavy. We have to wait for Daddy. I'm too little to pick it up."
"Okay, then let's sing the birthday song. Do it to you, Mommy."

I oblige, singing, "Happy Birthday, Dear Mommyyyyyyy..."

Jacob says, "Okay! Now you're 10! Now you can pick up the TV!"

Kids

Ella's new trick is trying to count and spell. She points to things and says, "Two, Tee, Two, Tee." She spells her name, "O A O A -- Awa!!!" or sometimes, "E O A -- Awa!!!" Jacob is having a hard time with the prospect of moving. He's excited to go see Grandma, but yesterday he said, "And then when we're done at Grandma's house we can come back home!" He was confused when I told him we were never coming back and that we would have a new home. He's very concerned and wants to know where his new new home will be. I wish I knew...!

School's Out!

Today was my last day of teaching. It's such a hard thing, emotionally, to leave a place that you love. This was the first job in my entire life that I've ever liked. We're having a pajama party with Kate tonight so it's juice and Veggie Tales all around!

Box 100!!!

We're at box 100!!! Why doesn't it look like we're ready to move yet!?!

Ugh...

So we're back to having no camera again. The latch on the battery case broke on our new camera and I had to send it off to New Jersey to get repaired. I'm really hoping that it is under warranty-- if not, I'll just ask them to send it back and I'll just use tape.

Almost Packed

First Trip to the Dentist

Jacob went to the dentist for the first time today. We waited for an hour before they took him back to get x-rays. Then they told me that I had to go to the waiting room while the x-rays were being taken but that they would come get me after. An HOUR later, Jacob comes out, finished, and the doctor says that he can't eat or drink anything for four hours because they've given him a flouride treatment. Well, Jacob had not eaten since 8:00 and it's now 12:15 (the appointment, by the way, was for 10:30). We tell her that there is no way that he can wait another four hours to eat or drink, so she says go eat lunch then come back and I'll redo the treatment. So we go eat lunch, come back, and 20 minutes later, leave with a freshly flourided child. Kris was supposed to meet a student at 1:00 and we didn't have a cell phone, so it kinda messed up his day, and Ella was supposed to be asleep at around 11:30, so after five minutes of frantic crying in the car, she fell asleep. The good news is that Jacob has no cavities and was very good the entire time : )

Our TV Day

Jacob woke up Saturday night crying. He had a fever and said his legs hurt. We put him in the shower to cool him down, gave him some Tylenol, and put him in our bed. He went back to sleep quickly, but woke up several more times. The next day he still had a fever, but was feeling much better. Between doses of Tylenol and random lukewarm baths ("Why is it I'm taking a bath again? I'm clean already!") Jacob watched more continuous hours of TV than he has in his whole life.

The OC Fair

Yesterday we all went to the Orange County Fair. The kids petted cows and goats and pigs; they rode rides; they came home with prizes. Kris and I indulged in "fair food" and were regretting it soon after. Kris actually tried one of those Krispy Kreme Fried Chicken Sandwiches-- he swears it was good. I just had battered potatoes, but after two slices I felt sick and stopped eating... of course, that didn't stop me from getting an ice cream on the way out! Boy did I regret that decision later...! We went home tired, but happy and smelling of smoked turkey legs.

Our New Camera is Here!!!
